Matsui FIXER Cure Accelerators (Increase color washfastness)
Matsui offers TWO different "Fixers" that will improve the washability and retain much of the original printed color brillance and intensity. BOTH of these additives work equally and will give identical results. These are especially effective when used with the NEO Pigment Concentrate and any of their waterbased inks. These "Fixers" are technically a "melamine resin" which is a non-formaldehyde agent that will cross-link the Matsui inks into a much more durable coating. It will cause the ink to better encapsulate and trap the pigments, in such a way that it prevents them from escaping the coating (causing fading). This is done by "polymerization" which occurs 24 hours or more after mixing.
Adding either FIXER will cause the printed inkfilm to be slightly stiffer. So, using less is best. These FIXERS are not absolutely required, but it will improve the long term washability where the utmost performance is required. Use within 24 hours of mixing into the inks, otherwise intercoat ink adheasion of multicolor prints will be reduced.
FIXER *N* and FIXER *F* will each result in identical performance.
- FIXER *N* is an eco-friendly curing accelerator additive made from higher cost raw materials.
- FIXER *F* is Regulatory Compliant and is a safe, less expensive alternative.
Add 1-4% by weight (1:100 to 1:25 ratio) to all types of Matsui textile inks when printing with any Matsui pigment concentrates. Adding either FIXER will cause the printed inkfilm to be slightly stiffer. So, using less is best. USE WITHIN 24 HOURS AFTER MIXING
All Matsui inks are sold "by the pound". The following are approximate container sizes:
- ½-¾ lb = 1 pint
- 1-1½ lb = 2 pints
- 2-3 lbs = 1 quart
- 9-12 lbs = 1 gallon
- 45-55 lbs = 5 gallon pail
